Vijay Thirugnanam

I am an independent React developer. I am working as a developer for over 18 years. My current passion is JavaScript, especially ES6+. For the last few years, I am working on React and React Native.

About my past

I graduated with Mechanical Engineering from IIT-Madras in 1998. My previous employers include Microsoft, Dell, ABB and Infosys. My core skills are React, Node and C#. I worked as a technical project manager for a few years.

My strength

I am good at understanding product requirements. That comes from my extensive experience in various industries – Banking (Bank of America), Insurance (Fidelity), Industrial Automation (ABB), eCommerce (Dell), Healthcare (Acceliant), Media (Sony-BMG). I learn quite fast.

My weakness

I don’t like tight deadlines. I don’t endorse Agile methodologies. I am very opinionated.

My favorite quote

“It is not by muscle, speed, or physical dexterity that great things are achieved, but by reflection, force of character, and judgment.”
― Marcus Tullius Cicero
